Hello everyone. I am sorry I don't have a very good handle on exactly what to ask for here. I think it's pretty simply according to what I am told but I don't know.
Basically I own an internet cafe with wired only machines. We would like to offer a wireless option for the people near our cafe. Basically we need to plug a wireless access point into our router. We want it set up so that anybody in the area that opens any browser while attached to our wi-fi connection they will be re-directed to a webpage of ours, one that we can modify as desired.
On that page there will simply be some welcome to, etc.. stuff and a place to input a username and password. They will be unable to surf to any other page or use the net connection in anyway without first inputting a username and password.
We will also then need the ability to generate random usernames and passwords, so we can give/sell them to our users.
It really does sound to me to be very simple, I could very well be wrong but I have seen commercial versions that sell for under 1k USD and they include the router so I would think we should be looking to pay less than 500 for such a piece of software.
We might at some point offer online payments via the net gateway but it's not needed right now... so do keep that in mind if it's something that you could code in now with little trouble.
I am told there is a PERL version of this software out there somewhere but I've yet to find much info about it.
thanks, please do email for any questions you might need answered.
