Debian 1:3.3.5-13 with 2.6.8 source.
MS SQL 2000 SP3.
I need to make a password protected FTP directory on my Debian box.
I need to make sure someone is not able to say ftp://IP/subdir/[url removed, login to view] and download the file. If they try I would like a 404/file not found error.
I would rather the URL be something as: ftp://IP/subdir/encrypted_name_pw/[url removed, login to view]
Taking the URL with an encrypted username and password I need to verify it against a MS SQL 2000 database before allowing the FTP to proceed. The valid FTP url will be generated by a webpage on one of my servers when the person goes to the download page. They will be right clicking and selecting a "save as", at which point the ftp request will be made.
Any modules to be used/compiled need to be in production status (no alpha or beta products).
Programming Code choice may be anything that works (RoR, PHP, Scripting)
Encryption method to be discussed when task assigned.
