I need a local directory site made. I'm willing to pay $140-220 for this work.
The new website will serve as a local directory for companies that will be advertising with us in our print ad booklet. The website will be modeled from competing local directory websites: [url removed, login to view], (REMOVE THE XXXS) and http://kudXXXXXzu.com. (REMOVE THE XXXS) We don't like the look and feel of [url removed, login to view] (REMOVE THE XXXS) but we are listing it as a model site because the navigation is similar to what we need. [url removed, login to view] (REMOVE THE XXXS) is more of the look we are going for, but with more of a prestigious, elegant feel.
Components of the website
Look and feel: The website should have a very elegant and rich look to it. We will be targeting advertisers that specialize in high end consumer goods and service such as law firms, jewelry stores, and designer clothing stores, and so we would like our website to match their businesses' feel. We would like to incorporate as many gradations, mirror reflections and accents as possible, obviously within good taste. We are thinking to have the theme of the logo and website deep black with either a gold or copper, and a light blue as a third color similar to the combination that can be seen on the GoDaddy email login as shown below. The site should be static without flash, but if you have any creative ideas to have flash bring up the logo when the visitor first comes to the site that would be great, but the logo itself should be static after the flash brings it to the page.
**While we like some of the features of the
[url removed, login to view] (REMOVE THE XXXS) homepage, we are definitely not impressed with the quality of that page, and so feel free to deviate from their design and come up with an original theme for the site The homepage should be very eye catching and draw the user in. It should be easy to navigate, and contain the following tabs under the logo header. Search Local Businesses, Browse Local Categories, Latest Publication, About Local. Clicking on each one of those tabs will take you to their respective pages described in detail below. There should be an additional link somewhere on the homepage that says “Read Local Click Here!” and takes the visitor to the same page as My Local. In the middle of the page there should be search bars like in [url removed, login to view] (REMOVE THE XXXS). The search boxes should read “what are you searching for”, “enter zip code”, “Search Site Now!”. There should be a graphic to the left of the search bars that should emulate luxury and quality living, maybe some exclusive house or car or model, perhaps some vintage photo in black and white might work instead (we are open to suggestions). There will be no member login or join links. Instead there should be a “Sign Up For Deals” submission box with the color theme of the site that will request name, email, zipcode. After clicking submit on the form it should turn the box solid black and say “thank you” to let the visitor know that their form was in fact submitted.
Underneath the search boxes about ½ way down the page there should be 3 boxes where we can upload featured advertisers' ads. We would like these ads to appear without the visitor having to scroll down. These ads should rotate with another 3 ads, so there should be 6 ads in total. We will need to be able to modify these three featured ads. At last ¼ of the page there should be links to About Local (will link to about page), Become an Local Business (will link to contact page), FAQs, Terms and Privacy, Contact. Somewhere on the page, preferably at the top right there should be some graphic that says “ Advertise Your Business”. Clicking that will take the user to the contact form page.
Search Local Businesses:
The “Search Local Businesses” will be able to be accessed through the header tab, the search bars on the homepage, and on the search results page search bars at the top of the page as can be seen here: [url removed, login to view] (REMOVE THE XXXS) Once the visitor types in the business name or keyword in the “What?” box and the zip code in the “Where?” box then he or she will be directed to the search results page. The search results should automatically list all business with relevant keywords in the directory regardless of zipcode. The reason we want it to work that way is because initially we will only be going after 1 city that has 3 zipcodes within a 4 mile radius, so we want all the listings to come up and populate the search results page regardless of distance. The visitor will, however, still be required to type in the zipcode before submitting the search query.
Search Results: The results page should look similar to the structure of couponXXXXclipper.com. (REMOVE THE XXXS) You can type in “doctor” for what and 33180 for zipcode to see an example of results. We would like to see the map on the left side of the search results, and the search results appear on the right side of the page, i.e., opposite of what couponclipper has. The map should imported using the free google maps API and geocoding feature [url removed, login to view] Underneath the map there should be two boxes with the same featured advertisers as the homepage. Those boxes should rotate randomly with between the 6 total featured advertisers. Above the featured advertisers it should say “Featured Businesses”. There won't need to be a refine by radius feature. The search results list should look like it does on couponclipper with the name of the business being preceded by a letter, A, B, C, etc. that corresponds to the location on the google map result. Instead of the green “coupon $” link and the blue “ad” link it should say “Offer” with a gold $ sign, and clicking that will open a window or page that will allow the visitor to view the ad that the specific advertiser is currently displaying. We will need a way to upload new ads and delete old ads for this feature. The visitor should also be able to print this ad. The page displaying the ad should also have the businesses name, address, and information at the top as can be seen here http://couponclipperXXXX/loc/DOCTORCLOSET/Coupons. (REMOVE THE XXXS) The google map should also display to the right. There should be a “share” widget to post the page to Facebook, email, myspace, etc.
Browse Local Categories:
The local coupon category search should include a place to enter the zip code, then there should be a drop down to search the different categories, which include: Automotive, Entertainment, Fitness and Sports, Health and Beauty, Home Furnishings, Home Improvement, Medical and Dental, Professional, Restaurants and Food, Retail, Services. The last function should be the “Browse Local Now!”. The Browse Local results should display in the same fashion as the Search Local results.
The latest publication tab will take the visitor to page that will require them to input the zipcode where they live. After submitting this information they will be taken to a screen that will display an image of the most current magazine we have published for that city. After clicking on that magazine a new page will open using the [url removed, login to view] (REMOVE THE XXXS) virtual magazine software that will allow the user to flip through a .pdf version of the publication. There should be a “back” button at the top of the page that will allow the visitor to go back to the Latest Publication page.
This tab should take the user to the page which will have a description of what Local is, information about advertising, and a contact form, which when submitted will provide a confirmation on that page that says “Thank you for your submission. We will contact you within 24 hours.”
Lastly, we would need a 5 page media kit created. Components would include:
Page1: Cover page with logo and title
Page2: Intro page with company services and information
Page3: Competitive comparison list
Page4: Pricing Options
Here is an example of a nice media kit we can model ours from [url removed, login to view] (REMOVE THE XXXS)
