I would love to be able to divulge everything here but I really need an NDA / no-compete (no compete is only for the specific niche market I am pursuing). NDAs are lame and boring but necessity for this project... Sorry. In lieu of full disclosure I'll post what I can here. After NDSs are signed, I'll have no problem forwarding over a copy of the design concept and a flow chart of the program layout.
WHAT I WANT TO BUILD
A web-based application that enables employers to easily monitor, document and reduce workplace injuries while staying OSHA compliant. Employers can quickly create accident reports, track injuries, print required OSHA documents such as OSHA 300 logs, and view injury metrics in real-time. There will be multiple forms for clients with a significant amount of data collected. That data will need to be housed within a database for easy retrieval of information.
It will be subscription-based, fully web-hosted, secure solution that does not require software downloads, training or IT support.
WHERE THE PROJECT CURRENTLY STANDS
Currently the program is running in MS Excel which contains templates, a database, and pie charts for the metrics portion. It needs to be taken from concept to reality.
In March 2010 I contracted with a programmer in Canada who essentially did some design work, came up with his own ideas and then just vanished before completing the project after being paid a 3rd installment of 4. Basically I spent several thousands of dollars for a non working product which has left me skeptical of finding a good and honest programmer over the net. I have met with local programmers here in Houston and I'm unhappy with what they are wanting to charge for such a simple idea.
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU
I need references that can tell me that your programming skills are awesome and that you can deliver a well-scoped project on-time and on budget. Some examples of your work would be good too. Enthusiasm and problem solving skills are a must. This is a personal project for me and I need someone who knows how to be proactive- it's pretty much non-negotiable.
If you are a master with SaaS architecture then please submit a bid on this. If you are already 'sort of working on another project' then this job is not for you.
If you think that this job is a good fit for your skill-set please give an accurate bid. Do not low-ball (underbid) just to get the project.
If I don't find someone that I think is a good fit I will cancel the project.
