I have a visual basic 6 program and would like a minor modification to it. In this program, users select a "location" and then have 6 fields they can change for this location. They should click the SAVE button to save the changes (in an Oracle database). Everything works fine but I would like to make the following changes:
1) Currently, the user could change one of the field related to the location and then click exit. Since they didn't hit the save button, the changes they made aren't saved. If they have modified one of my six fields for the location and they click the exit button I would like them to get a prompt to save changes where they can click Yes (in which case the same actions as the save button are taken), No (the program just closes without saving), or Cancel (the program returns to the form).
2) It is also possible for a user to change one or more fields for a location and then choose a different location from the drop down box having never clicked on save. In this case as well, changes aren't saved. If a user changes a field and doesn't click save before selecting a new machine I would like them to once again have a Save Prompt with Yes (execute save button actions), No (just continue and let the user pick a different location), or Cancel (return to the form).
I have attached a copy of my current program.
