I have a ASP.Net (c#) web application where I use annonomous access and authenticate the user against a database table of users. I want to give the member users access to zip files on the web site (content in a folder off of the main web virtual folder) but I don't want someone to be able to simply grab the file by typing in the url. For example: If I have a file [url removed, login to view] in a download folder in my web app:
c:\inetpub\wwroot\download\[url removed, login to view]
I want the user to have to login (not windows authentication if at all possible) to gain access to the file. I want to stop this
http://webserver/download/[url removed, login to view]
from downloading the file. My first thought was to have a secure windows account and do some kind of impersonation when the user logs in, but...I don't know if it will work nor do I know exactly how to do it...thus, the reason for this post!
Please code a simple sample aspx page that, say, once a button is clicked then I can click a link to download the zip file...otherwise any annoynomous access cannot initiate the download.
Please help! Thx!!!
