Subject Matter: Competition Website First competition for a car WebSite Host name: Not available I do have web domain already posted for testing purposes Required Date: November 2011 Details: Website to be a base for several competitions running at the same time Will store all relevant details on MySQL databases. (I already have an initial design of the databases that I want) Website to be interactive to allow: Input of customer details Validation of details Store details in MySQL (I would want to interrogate the databases independently as well) Allow customers to register and sign in to their account with a password Store a contact list Contain a competition page, either questions or a spot-the-ball type of competition Accept either Paypal / Credit / Debit Card payments securely Other details: I want to be able to make amendments to the site by myself as and when things change or when new competitions are about to start. Therefore I would want to be able to either download the entire site or have a separate backup copy to load onto my own computer. I already have Dreamweaver CS3 and would prefer to use Dreamweaver by choice but am open to suggestions about this. The website will often be accessed using a laptop outside of the home using a mobile phone or dongle, therefore, if this method of internet access is detrimental to the website performance and loading speeds then this should be a consideration in it’s design. Inclusion of a no of visitors counter and no. of entries so far counter (counters to be easily switched on and off) Single pages where possible (ie. no scrolling on the Home Page and on the Competition Page) All entries to have an automated email confirming the entry. A duplicate email to be sent to separate email account. Web Site Content: Generally – I will provide all of the text and pictures that is relevant to the car competition itself General layout and theme - to be fairly simple with a light coloured background, perhaps lightly textured. The top and left side should have a border with a deeper colour but not too brash. I am not sure of about colour scheme yet. Menu on the left hand side Home Page –General information about the site and also at least one photograph Competition Page – A page which is where the actual competition takes place. This will be interactive so that the input from the operator can be verified and stored. (For legal reasons, the format of the competition must encompass an element of skill by the participant. ‘Best of the best’ use a spot-the ball competition. Also to over-ride by an administrator in order to accept cash and cheques Rules and Conditions Page – I will supply FAQ’s Page – I will supply Previous Winners Page - to include photos of past prizes / winners (this will be disabled for the very first competition) Charity Page – I may co-promote with a charity organisation Links to Other sites (In relevant places and perhaps on a page by itself as well – included in this would be a link to a gambler’s warning site and lottery rules etc. I will supply any sites that I know about but am open to suggestions with others
