I want to replace a current tabled list on a site which is generated in PHP using a list of keywords in a file. The new interface will display the keywords in a "tag cloud" type listing. Rather than pull the data from the text file, I want to store them in a database that will include the key phrase and number of searches.
The number of searches will be used to weight the display. The display will include the top x-number of items (to be determined based on how much room this takes up). Each key phrase in the cloud will link to a page and that page URL is easily generated by replacing the spaces in the key phrase with hyphens.
The list is maintained manually as the list needs personal massaging to remove or combine duplicates, etc. Therefore, a rudimentary web interface for administration of the keyword database would be required.
There are a number of other enhancements I will make to the site so a good job on this project will lead to more work almost immediately.
I have sample PHP code already for the tag cloud functionality and will provide the URL. CSS work will be needed to ensure that the new list blends in with the site.
