Typo3 portal website with 3party php script integration

I am creating a portal website and have decided to use the Typo3 CMS ([url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view]). I will need several page templates and perhaps a few extensions to be made (depending on what already exists and the flexiblity of the templates). I also have a 3rd party PHP software that also needs to be integrated as well. The 3rd party software company has already provided some integration, but the freelancer must make sure that it has the same look and feel and has all the same functionality.
The freelancer is responsible for page templates, extensions, integration of 3rd party software, and the web design of the page (graphics/layout included). No content has been created.
I would prefer someone who already has experience with Typo3, but if you have a proven track record of learning quickly and producing excellent work, I might give you a chance.
In your bid, please let me know if you have experience with Typo3 CMS (www.typo3.org / www.typo3.com) or any open source PHP/MYSQL CMS systems. The template system on Typo3 is a bit different from anything I've ever seen so please take a quick look through the doucmentation to be sure you can handle this. I'd hate to waste my time or your time. The 3rd party PHP software utilizes the Smarty Template engine. (http://smarty.php.net)
