Need very small windows program to work with ANY version
of windows. 98 through XP pro and so on.
What I need is a small ping program to ping a certain IP address for one of our wireless setups. We have a certain type of radio the stops working for no known reason mostly for inactivity and found it will stay alive with a few pings every so often being sent to it. Like a keep alive. I would like to be able to set at least two different IPs to ping and even be able to set the how often to ping each one.
I need this program to run in the background when running. Need it to autostart when the computer is started. It needs to install very easy form a floppy and put all the needed files on the hard drive. The only thing the customer should need to do is run the command to install and it should do all the rest.
A small tray icon that can be double clicked to shut it off.
If the customer wants to un-install it for any reason, they should be able to do this in the add/remove programs listing. (Any version of windows).
No need for this to be in the programs listing. Don't need to confuse any one unless it's given a name that they will now it's part of our service.
Small config file in text that I can set the IP, how often to ping, how many pings and if the pings fail the second time a small message window that I can set for the customer to see with an OK button for them to press. At least up to 25
words. All with out me having to re-compile the source.
If the ping does not work the first time, I want it to wait 5 or 10 seconds and try again before giving a error message. Then if it does not work the second time display the message to them.
Thanks
Bob Ross
