I need a small application that will allow me to enter various details to test whether they will allow me to send an HTTP request through a web proxy server.
The details I will enter are:
- Receiving web server
- proxy server address
- use default proxy settings (T/F)
- Bypass local addresses (T/F)
A "Test" button will attempt to send an HTTP request to the Receiving Web server using the details supplied. If successful, a "Success" message; if not, details of the problem. That way, I can try various settings to connect.
If no username, password and Proxy server address are supplied, the application should attempt to obtain them from the registry (IE settings maybe?). It should also try to use a proxy configuration script if this has been set up in IE.
Once a suitable combination has been found, the application should allow the user to save a text file with the details listed neatly.
To be used on Win32 machines.
Here is an exceprt from the config file for the application that sends out data. I would like to be able to change each of these settings and try them out.
<defaultProxy enabled="true" useDefaultCredentials="true">
<proxy autoDetect="false" proxyaddress="http://username:password@proxy-srv01:8080" bypassonlocal="true" />
I am available on Skype.

I have attached an extract from the config file of the application that uses the proxy settings to communicate. These are the settings I would like your app to test.
