I have a component installed in Joomla called feedgator which can import RSS feeds (example: google news for a specific keyword) and put each news item into MySQL as separate content item which can then be published into a section>category of joomla. I just run "import," and 10 new items are published. Cool!
I also have a script called Grouper installed, and another called Carp. Supposedly these will let a webmaster generate and parse RSS feeds in a million different ways.
I need someone who understands Amazon Commerce Services to configure these installs of CARP and GROUPER on my server so that I can generate amazon rss feeds linked to certain keywords (and to my associates ID and developer code), and pull in listing with titles, prices, images, short descriptions of books, etc.
I would like to be able import the feeds generated by this method into Feedgator so that I can use the items generated in this way to populate a bookstore, and then add my own unique content to each book or dvd listing in the form of a review.
I also want to be able to generate XML lists from these rss feeds so that if I want I can just post this xml code to static pages instead and so always have a dynamic list of recent popular books by keyword (and attached to my associate id) on those pages.
Supposedly Carp and Grouper, if configured properly, will allow me to do all of these things. I myself barely understand how RSS and XML work and so will need someone else to set these up with working examples for me.
