I am contemplating a plug in for Microsoft Word which would facilitate the movement of paragraphs from Word into a database, and from the database to Word. Two basic components: 1. Movement of paragraphs from Word into the database. Here I would be able to highlight the text I wanted to move into the database, and then select "add paragraph" from a pull down menu in Word. This would pop up a window which would prompt me for a the other feilds. Once the other fields are entered, I would hit OK and the paragraph would be added to the database along with the other fields, and would keep the formatting from Word intact, and would then the pop up would go away returning me to my original document. 2. Movement of paragraphs from the database into Word. Here I would be able to select "insert paragraph" from the same pull down menu in Word, and then a pop up window which allows me to select from the paragraphs that have previously been added to the database. Here the design of this form is important. I will want to use a pull-down menu to select from the types of paragraphs that are in the database (one of the fields) and then be shown the text of the paragraphs that are of that type of paragraph. I will probably have to scroll through the availible clauses of the type. Then once the desired paragraph is found, I should be able to select it and hit OK to have it inserted into the document where the curser was. I have some other ideas of ways to utilize the database, so any solution will have be be easily modified in terms of adding fields, changing the form for entering information, and changing the design of the popup used to disply the information. It is important that this solution be distributable to muliple people on different machines. A simple macro solution is not enough, as they are difficult to distribute. Please respond with your experience in this area, and how long you think the project will take.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. --the database must be accessible using stardard tools like access and excel, as opposed to being incorporated into the program without a way of importing or exporting.
Must run on Window XP, 2000, ME, and 98. On Microsoft Word 2000 and higher.
