I'm assuming someone's already got the basic skeleton for this... and would have to do very little to meet this requirement. I'm looking for an Instant Messaging Server written in either Visual Basic 6.0 or Python, which can accept internet or local traffic across a LAN. -DOCUMENTATION. -The protocol MUST be XML-based. -The contact list for each user MUST be stored on the server. -Delivery to 'groups' -Chat rooms support When bidding, please notify me of a few things: -Intended Server Storage format(Certain DB/XML, etc.) Extra consideration will be given for: - multiple-server support ('client->server->server->client' style delivery) - server-stored rules (i.e. 'Can user X send messages outside of the local server') - providing a resource impact report, indicating the percentage of server resources used when processing different numbers of users.
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Documentation of protocol used for delivery of information to consumers of said server (clients). Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
