Job Title: Wizard-based Order Tracking System
We are looking for a skilled freelancer to develop a wizard-based order tracking system for our e-commerce website. The system will allow customers to track the status of their orders and report any issues or missing items. The freelancer will be responsible for implementing the necessary functionalities and integrating them into our existing website.
Wizard Interface: Create a step-by-step wizard interface where customers can enter their order details and progress through each step.
Order Verification: Implement order verification functionality to check if the provided order number and last name match any existing orders in the database.
Delivery Status Calculation: Calculate the delivery status of the order based on the current date and working days. Consider weekends and public holidays when determining the number of working days.
Status Messages: Display appropriate status messages to the customer based on the calculated delivery status. If the order is still in transit, show a message indicating that the order is on its way. If there are missing items or issues, provide specific instructions to the customer.
Confirmation and Agreement: Include options and agreement checkboxes for customers to confirm their willingness to initiate an investigation with the shipping provider. Make these options mandatory before proceeding to the next step.
Confirmation Emails: Implement automatic confirmation emails to customers once the form is completed. The email should include a summary of the submitted information and further instructions regarding the investigation process.
Follow-up and Updates: Send automatic follow-up emails to customers after 48 hours, providing them with the option to confirm whether they have received the package or not. Update the issue accordingly based on their response.
Partial Delivery Handling: If the customer reports a partially delivered order, create a modified label in our WooCommerce system indicating "Partial Delivery Resent."
Data Storage and Reporting: Store all customer order information and investigation details in a secure database. Develop a separate reporting module to generate printable overviews for internal use.
Integration with PrintNode: Integrate the existing PrintNode module to enable printing of the generated overviews.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience with database management and SQL queries.
Familiarity with web development frameworks and libraries (e.g., Laravel, jQuery).
Knowledge of e-commerce systems and working with APIs.
Good understanding of user experience design principles.
Attention to detail and ability to write clean and well-documented code.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Completed wizard-based order tracking system integrated into the existing website.
Well-documented code with clear instructions for future maintenance.
