I am experimenting with 360 degree photography and time lapse photography.

I want to view in 360 degrees a bean plant sprouting and growing.

I'd like to be able to view my data set using the SpriteSpin jQuery plugin modified so that it handles my time series of many still images. Currently SpriteSpin is designed only to handle a basic 360 degree set of still frames which have no time aspect.

I'd like you to make a modified version of the open source SpriteSpin code (available on github at: [login to view URL]) so that I can put each "ring" of 360 files into a set of subfolders, to be structured as follows:

In this example I'd specify a path to "mybeansprout" (that folder name can vary; for example mycucumber, mybreadmold, etc). It will have any number of "frame######" folders within it, ordinally sequenced. Within each of these folders there will always be the same number of still images.

At the mybeansprout root I will place a tiny [login to view URL] file that defines 1) the number of still images in each spin-ring, 2) the total number of frames, and 3) the playback frame rate. 4) image dimensions [you can suggest another way of communicating these parameters if you don't like to use XML for this]

i.e. ..\mybeansprout\[login to view URL]

and there will be many folders:

..\mybeansprout\frame000001\[login to view URL] to [login to view URL]

(34 is the number of still images in the bicycle example that they show; but it is arbitrary)

See: [login to view URL]

frame000002 folder will contain a matching set of still photos, and so on

If the user is not spinning the displayed image it will continue playing like a video from that one view angle; but if the user is moving the object, the displayed rotated image will be from the correct time-frame as time of course continues.

note: The files are all within my own home network, so latency should not be a problem. You can code for data to be at localhost. But if possible , I'd like some buffering to take place; i.e. only keep the next ~ 4 seconds or so of frames in memory at a given moment.

Please do take a careful look at the SpriteSpin code at github before bidding.

Thank you, and good luck!

This project requires Javascript programming skill and familiarity with jQuery.

To avoid any confusion about wording, since the examples at SpriteSpin label each image as a "frame", i'll change my folder naming to be called "time" and the images at each angle as a "view". I hope this clarification is helpful.

i.e. ..\mybeansprout\DataSetInfo.xml
and there will be many folders:
..\mybeansprout\time000001\view01.jpg to view34.jpg
(34 is the number of still images in the bicycle example that they show; but it is arbitrary)

See: http://spritespin.ginie.eu/howto/

time000002 folder will contain a matching set of still photos advanced by a few milliseconds, and so on for time000003, time000004 etc...
