1) Overall, this part is not too complicated, it just takes some explanation first so you can undertand the customization we already have and what needs to be corrected in it... We recently had some customizations done to our OsCommerce which added Quotes to the system. In the Product Page Setup, products are either set up as Product, Quote, or Instant Quote. However, this is not working correctly and needs some corrections as noted below. (The previous freelancer who did the original project for us is on a 3 week vacation now and we can't wait that long for this to be fixed.)
First, Slaves cannot be treated as normal products - they currently are. On the Product Page Setup, Slaves cannot have their own option to be a "price", "instant quote" or "quote" - whereby now they do. In order for the "Price" versus "Quote/Instant Quotes" to work properly, the slaves must be separate from products. Slaves must "read" the main product that they are attached to and IF the main product is setup as a "Price", then the slaves that are attached to the product should show the price, quantity slot, and BuyNow button on the Product Page that the customers see. On the other hand, if the slaves are attached to a main product that is setup as "Quote" or "Instant Quote", then the customer should see "Request Quote" under the Price column, the quantity slot, and the "Request Quote" button. (I.e. Slaves must "read" the main product to determine what they do.)
Products only (not slaves) would show up under the menu items in store.
More explanation and example: There are many slaves that are not really products. For example, electrical options are not available for purchase without a product because this is a factory installed option of the product itself, and not a product by itself. Other slaves, such as a "Drip Pan", we would set up as both a slave and a product because these could be purchased separately. For example, we set up a drip pan as a slave. The slave drip pan would be added as a Slave to the product. The Product is setup as a Quote item, therefore the drip pan would show as a quoted item. We would also set up the drip pan as a product also since it can be purchased separately.
This particular problem is making the entire quote system not work.
We also have another minor adjustment that should be done during this Slave/Product project.... We need the category for the slaves to show on the drop down list when we're making selections of the slaves to attach to the products. Currently it only shows the name of the slave. The current list could become cumbersome and long otherwise.
2) We have a new merchant account/[url removed, login to view] set up to accept credit cards. We need someone to get it working. Currently it is in Test mode. Credit cards ([url removed, login to view]) will show up as a payment option, and allow customers to enter CC information, but when they finalize the order, it takes them to the Login screen (they are already logged in); and doesn't confirm that the order was placed. We need it to show a landing page like the other payment options that confirms their order placement. Although there doesn't seem to be much more left to this, we want to make sure the cc processing is running correctly in it's entirety.
We also have other work in another project that is related to this work. If you are assigned this project, you are likely to get the work for the other project. (This project must be completed first, before the other project can begin.)
This project is timely and must commence immediately upon being awarded.
