Please provide more information about what should be displayed in the modal. I can make it work to display for 1 week by setting up sessions, please note that this is not a 100% perfect solution to make sure that it only displays once a week because sessions may expire sooner if user is not active regularly, cookies may perform worst. It's also possible to implement this through browsers local storage and may provide more accuracy. However whenever a user clears cache or use incognito or private browsing the weekly timer may be reset for that user. I have been a website developer for more than 6 years now.
