I want a person to finish (don't scare about it) a prestashop module, it has to crawle a website for importing products and attributes. I have the basic module skeleton and the structure of classes for the crawler. I made some sophisticated "feeds importers" sometime ago, separating they in fetchers, parsers and processors, tasks and threads inspiring me in existent cms and frameworks but implemented in Zend Framework, Symfony, light php projects (Slim, light ORMs) but now I don't have time for this project, but I know what I want. You have to be able to define a system of tasks with an unique task for this moment (stored in mysql) that executes multiple php instances (defined in the task, for example: 15 threads for the http_fecher in that machine, or 15 threads more in that other machine or workers), the queue of urls to visit is also stored in db so is fully parallelizable (and later you can easily do Excel sheets querying with SQL saying "how many links I crawled in each task? "what products I've crawled from that site and what are they URLs?"). Ask me if you want an example where I implemented this in Symfony (not the "Excel exporter").
The project is also prepared to use vagrant for quickly deploy your development environment, so theoretically you only have to do "git clone && cd <...> && vagrant up" (no matters if you use linux, windows or mac). I would like you follow Prestashop coding standards and document all the possible the code for other person that is not you (keep in mind that possibly you have to update the parser sometime further).
I would like you catch this project if you are inspired and it represents a quick win for you (for example: I'm touching Prestashop this days or I touched it or it not represents a high handicap and I develop PHP and have some notions of lamp servers), anyway the timeline is not a problem. I think that a month to close it is a good time, but it don't means that you spend a month doing it, what matters for me is the budget I'm going to spend for this project approx.
I think all specs are provided, do your offers. Best Regards.
