I require a coder to write some sample code in PHP for linking the Telerik UI for PHP Grid to a mySQL Database, using the Kendo Datasource API.
It's needs to be clearly commented and use functions.
The Grid will need the following features:
- A php is loaded with the grid. By default the grid will initially be empty.
- Above the grid will be the following:
--- A combo drop-down box to specify the "EstablishmentDB" (Initially the values of "EstA", "EstB" or "EstC")
--- A freetext box to specify the "BookingCode". If left empty all results are returned
--- A drop-down box to specify how many records (50, 100 or all). 50 is the default.
--- A button to then search for the DB.
This will then connect to a mySQL Database and will extract from a table named Bookings the following fields. "ID", "ExternalID", "EstablishmentDB", "First Name", "BookingCode", "BookingDate", "BookingStatus".
This will then populate the Grid with those columns. There will also be an end column with a button to edit (popup editing).
The grid needs to have the following features enabled:
- Export to Excel and PDF
- Ability to filter rows
- Ability to sort rows
- Column resizing
The reasoning for a separate search before the grid is populated it to reduce the load on the database to restrict the number of results returned. If you believe there is a better way of doing this please let me know. I know this can filtered within the Grid, however, I believe all data needs to be retrieved from the DB first, which with thousands of records will result in it being slow.
