Names, technical terms and numbers get the most caution — simultaneously the hardest handwriting to read and the most expensive to get wrong. On edited rather than verbatim: I'll fix spelling, grammar and punctuation, and repair sentences that don't parse. I won't smooth the author's phrasing into neutral prose. Voice lives in word choice and rhythm, and an over-edited transcription reads like someone else wrote it, which is the usual failure when a brief says "correct as you go."
