Python or C# script to reorganize and extract files

Job Description:
I have an export of images and other asserts and their meta data. The system seems to write a folder name with the original media asset like (image /[login to view URL]) and then inside of that folder is an object called original. We need to make a script that will recursively scan folders and sub folders looking for extension matches in the file name. Then grab the “original” file and name it properly and create a new logical folder structure for organizing these files. At the end of a new name we need an ID so we can guarantee it’s unique when we put all of the images in an single output folder. Let’s just go with a 8 digit ID with no leading zeros.
The other thing we need is an output log that shows the ID and image name and the path that it was originally in
Original Path | new file name | ID
For extensions we will use this list but it should be managed in an external config file so we can adjust as needed and rerun

Next I’ll need details on how to run your script write with screenshot so a non technical person can handle it.
