I need a seasoned security professional to create a fully-functional private certificate keystore that complies with Brazilian standards and best practices. Hello, The safe way to do this is that your private key never leaves your computer. If you already have your ICP-Brasil A1 certificate (.pfx) from your certification authority, I'll give you a short script and a step-by-step guide in Portuguese that builds the PKCS#12 keystore with the full chain (AC Raiz, intermediate and yours), sets the alias and password, and validates it with keytool and OpenSSL. I recommend PKCS#12 because Java, Windows and most Brazilian e-invoice tools read it directly. What matters most to me is that you can renew it yourself next year without anyone's help. Before anything else: is your certificate an ICP-Brasil A1 from an accredited AC like Certisign, Serasa or Valid? The keystore only holds it, it can't make a certificate valid for NF-e or e-CNPJ. So I check the chain against the ICP-Brasil root first and tell you honestly if there's a problem. If it's fine, I'd package the key and chain as PKCS#12 (.pfx), which Java, Windows and the Brazilian invoicing programs accept, and add a JKS copy if you need one. Your private key doesn't have to leave your machine: I send you a script I've tested on a dummy key and you run it yourself, with every step explained.
