Automate Shopify Inventory & Product Uploads

I have a large, continuously changing product feed that looks much like the classic HLC files—thousands of SKUs, multiple columns for options, prices, inventory breaks and so on. My aim is to stop wrestling with manual spreadsheets and turn the whole process into a hands-off workflow that keeps Shopify perfectly in sync. Here’s what the job involves. You will take the raw Excel/CSV sheets I receive from suppliers, clean and re-format them so every field lines up with Shopify’s requirements, then push the data through the Shopify API. Because I rely on Product Management & Admin, Inventory Management and full API Integration, the solution must handle: • Bulk creation of new products and their variants • Accurate mapping of titles, descriptions, images, pricing and metafields • Automated inventory adjustments whenever an updated feed arrives • Error handling that logs and reports failed rows so nothing is missed Deliverables I expect: 1. A reusable, well-commented script or lightweight app that ingests my Excel/CSV feed and posts updates to Shopify. 2. A master spreadsheet template returned to me, set up with the correct column order, data validation and formulas so future feeds drop straight in. 3. A short hand-off document (or Loom walk-through) showing how to trigger the update, roll back if needed, and expand the field mapping should the supplier add columns later. I’m comfortable scheduling regular cron-style jobs on my server, or we can host a small middleware app—whichever you feel is most stable. If you have done large SKU uploads, variant management or inventory syncs before, you’ll know the pitfalls: duplicate handles, rate limits, inconsistent option naming, orphaned variants. Your expertise in spotting and fixing those before they cause a problem is what I’m really paying for. Once everything is live and stable, I’d like the option to bring you back for incremental improvements, but right now the priority is a rock-solid, automated pipeline that turns the supplier’s feed into live, accurate products on Shopify without human intervention.
