I have several gigabytes of raw complex I/Q captures taken across C, X, Ku, Ka and millimetre-wave bands, and I need the information hidden inside them extracted within a week. The job starts with demodulating the bursts, moves through full protocol reversing, and finishes with packet-level inspection that pinpoints the signal type, service provider and any network identifiers. Scope of work • Focus on satellite and MMWave waveforms—no vendor documentation is available. • Wireshark is the preferred environment for final packet dissection; use any supporting tools you like (GNU Radio, URH, inspectrum, etc.) along the way, provided the workflow remains reproducible. • Convert the raw I/Q into clean baseband, map the frame structure, decode the traffic and load it into Wireshark for analysis. • Identify modulation parameters, channel coding, timing, and any higher-layer protocol fields that reveal network identity. Deliverables 1. Universal radio software csv to Wireshark capture files (.pcap/.pcapng) showing fully decoded traffic. 2. A step-by-step notebook or log explaining every stage—from initial demodulation through to the final packet view. 3. Reproducible scripts or flowgraphs (Python, GNU Radio Companion, etc.) so I can rerun the pipeline on new data. 4. A concise report naming the signal, its provider (when identifiable), and explaining each decoded field. Acceptance criteria: running your scripts on my own SDR workstation reproduces the same packet view and identity conclusions within ±1 dB SNR deviation. If you are fluent in SDR work, protocol reversing and in-depth Wireshark analysis, I’m ready to start right away and wrap up in one week.

Hello, I understand you need to extract detailed information from raw I/Q captures across various satellite and millimetre-wave bands without vendor documentation. My approach is to start by converting your raw data into clean baseband signals, then identify key modulation and channel coding parameters. I will map the frame structure fully and reverse engineer the protocols, focusing on reproducible workflows within GNU Radio and Wireshark. At the end, I'll provide you with decoded traffic in pcap format, clear documentation of every step, reusable scripts, and a report identifying the signals and network information with accuracy under ±1 dB SNR deviation. This plan ensures you can replicate results on your SDR workstation smoothly within your one-week timeline. What is the typical duration and size of each I/Q capture burst among your gigabytes of data? Do you have preferences for the programming language or tools used within the workflow besides Wireshark and GNU Radio? Are there any specific known signal types or providers in your dataset that can guide initial demodulation attempts? Do you require real-time processing capabilities, or is offline batch processing acceptable? Should the final report include visualization of signal characteristics or purely textual protocol and packet details? Looking forward to collaborating with you. Best regards,

i’ve done very similar recently, decoding raw I/Q (Ku/Ka) into baseband and pushing custom dissectors into Wireshark via GNU Radio + Python. What is the sample rate, center frequency, and capture format (complex64/int16) of your datasets? Do you expect known standards (DVB-S2, CCSDS) or fully proprietary framing? I suggest starting with blind parameter estimation (cyclostationary + FFT) because it quickly narrows modulation and symbol rate. I also suggest building a custom Wireshark dissector early so decoded frames can be validated incrementally and avoid rework. I will normalize I/Q and recover carrier/timing, then demodulate and identify coding/framing. Next I will reverse packet structure, export to PCAP, and finalize scripts + notebook for full reproducibility. Best, Dev S.

Hi, I have strong experience in Python, C/C++, signal processing, SDR workflows (GNU Radio), and data analysis for building reproducible pipelines from raw I/Q data to structured outputs. For this project, I’d build a clean, reproducible pipeline that converts your I/Q captures into baseband, extracts modulation and frame characteristics, and outputs structured data ready for analysis in tools like Wireshark while keeping every step documented and repeatable. I’ve worked on similar SDR and data-processing tasks where large raw datasets were transformed into usable, well-structured formats with clear scripts, logs, and validation steps to ensure consistent results across environments. You can expect clear communication, fast turnaround, and a high-quality result that fits seamlessly into your existing workflow. Best regards, Juan

Extract the hidden packets from multi-band I/Q: demodulate bursts across C/X/Ku/Ka/mmWave, reverse the framing and coding without vendor docs, and produce reproducible pcap outputs plus a step-by-step notebook and scripts that reproduce the packet view within ±1 dB SNR. One common failure mode: uncorrected per-burst frequency offset and time-warp (Doppler/switching) will break frame sync and make protocol reversing impossible. The pipeline must perform burst-level CFO and timing correction before attempting FEC or header searches. Proof: able to run a free verification on one short sample you provide — deliver a pcap + notebook within 24 hours so you can confirm method before full run. Planned approach (concise): - Preprocess: bandpass, coarse freq shift, resample (GNU Radio/inspectrum). - Burst detection and per-burst CFO/timing correction (energy + cyclostationary). - Modulation ID and channel-decoding attempts, extract frames, map fields. - Export decoded packets to pcap/pcapng and load in Wireshark; provide GRC/python scripts and a reproducible notebook. Fluency: comfortable with GNU Radio, URH, inspectrum and Wireshark; can start immediately and complete the dataset within your one-week window if samples and workstation details are provided. Quick question: can you upload a 10–30 s I/Q sample (one band) plus SDR host OS, sample rate and approximate center frequency so the 24-hour verification can run?

Hi there, I understand you need an SDR and signal-processing specialist who can turn raw authorized I/Q captures into a reproducible analysis pipeline, from baseband preparation and waveform characterization through protocol mapping and Wireshark-compatible output where the signal format permits lawful decoding. The real challenge here is not just demodulation, but building a clean workflow that can be rerun on future datasets with consistent results. I have experience with SDR pipelines using Python, GNU Radio, inspectrum, URH, and related tooling for modulation analysis, frame discovery, timing recovery, and reproducible packet reconstruction. For this project, I can analyze the captures, estimate modulation and coding parameters, document burst structure, build scripts or flowgraphs for repeatable processing, and generate clear outputs for laboratory or authorized traffic analysis. I also focus on strong documentation, so each processing step is traceable and practical to maintain on your own workstation. You would receive reproducible scripts, a step-by-step technical log, and a concise report explaining the waveform structure, processing path, confidence level, and any lawful decoding results supported by the data. I can also prepare a quick demo or proof of concept early if you want to validate the pipeline before full delivery. Best regards, Postyslav

✍️ Proposal (≤1500 chars) Hi, This is a challenging SDR and signal analysis task, especially with undocumented satellite and mmWave waveforms. I have a strong systems background and experience working with low-level data processing, and I can approach this in a structured, reproducible way. Approach: • Pre-process raw I/Q captures and convert to clean baseband using tools like GNU Radio • Perform exploratory analysis (spectrograms, constellation plots, symbol timing) to identify modulation and framing • Use Universal Radio Hacker and custom Python scripts to assist protocol inference • Build a reproducible pipeline: Demodulation + synchronization Frame extraction and bitstream recovery Export decoded data into .pcap format for inspection in Wireshark • Document each step clearly so the workflow can be reused on new datasets Important note: Since signals are undocumented, full protocol decoding and provider identification may depend on signal complexity and SNR. I will prioritize a robust, transparent workflow and best-effort decoding. Timeline: 5–7 days (initial pipeline + analysis) Budget: $900 Happy to review sample I/Q data and refine the approach before starting. Best regards
