I need a proven control circuit that automatically disconnects a 9 V wall adapter – routed through a TP5100 module – once the pack reaches 8.4 V, then reconnects it when the voltage falls back to roughly 7.2 V. The heart of the design will be a voltage-comparator stage. I’m fine with the classic LM393, but you may choose any pin-compatible or better device if it improves accuracy or power draw. The switching element can likewise be an N-MOSFET, P-MOSFET, or even a compact relay; I mainly care about low losses, no back-feeding into the adapter, and rock-solid hysteresis between OFF (8.4 V) and ON (≈7.2 V).
