Hi,
we're in the need of finding an issue tracking/task management system with some wiki and history/version functionality. (Others might call it project management.)
- (REST) API to access all content (including the history).
- Labels/Tags for issues/tasks (for comments they are not required, but would be very nice)
- On-premises software only!
- CI/CD integration is not needed
- No Roadmap/Milestones/Time Tracking needed
- Kanban board is not required, but a way to define that or similar boards (e.g. 'prio1', 'prio2', 'prio3') for issues would be nice but is NOT required
Do you know/have one of those systems?
I need someone who shows me what his favorite system is able to do. Yes, I will pay for this! (We will do it by Teams or TeamViewer or whatever (maybe you have a test-installation where I am able to click))
If I am interested in this system and you also offer that service, install and configure it for me. This is NOT required. If you only want to show/teach me the system thats totally OK!
Yes, I am able to google those systems by myself, but it is very time consuming to dig out the answers to my questions/problem....
And I am pretty sure I will not find the real interesting ones...
(E.g. I checked 'gitlab': The issue management is good, the wiki-functionality is a little rudimentary, but it has a working API, so it is possbile to use that API-calls to integrate it into MediaWiki to have a 'better' wiki. Not a really bad solution, but I hope there are better ones.)
So yes, also a pack of two integrated systems would be a solution. (Jira + Confluence is no longer a solution, because in the future it will be no longer an on-premises software.)
Still interested?
While the above requirements are the minimum functionality, maybe you want to show me more:
Consider a 'Meeting Notes'-documentation functionality:
We have a meeting where issues or tasks are being discussed. The discussion must be documented inside the meeting notes and in the the issue/taks itself.
My idea while testing gitlab:
Writing these meeting discussions into the comment of the issue, label this comment and do a search inside the meeting notes to find all those labeled comments to show the content in the meeting notes.
Can your system do this, too? Does it have a better/ready to use way?
BTW:
The eye eats too: On the paper the functionality of 'redmine' and '[login to view URL]' looks good, but I didn't test this, because the interface seems to be very old-fashioned. But maybe I am wrong and you show me how nice it is!
Is there really no system where also the issue/comment description is versioned e.g. like a standard wiki-page in MediaWiki?
Yes, I haven't looked at YouTrack and OpenProject yet. Maybe you want to show it to me.... But maybe there are better ones....
