There can be a new Tool developed that just connection to source DB and Target DB and transfer data based on the data integrity. Hi, I would welcome the opportunity to help you to migrate your data from one DB to another DB. I have extensive experience in SQL. Being in Australia, I can assure you that your medical data is safe and I am 100% honest with what I do. I have estimated 20 days for this project as a rough guide. I can't really promise you anything without knowing more about the requirement (ie. size of db) and obstacles that may be faced while performing the job. One of the main thing with data migration is that data must be exactly the same when the data is migrated and all types of data must be migrated corrected. I can't see the attachments that you mentioned. Thanks for the pdf attachment. In data migration from one DB to another DB, the most important thing is to properly define all data fields mapping. Once this is done, the conversion is straight forward. Since both Genie and BestPractice uses XML as export/import, this looks most likely to be the way to go BUT each XML has it's own schema definition and Genie and BestPractice may have different schemas. So the job of exporting Genie to XML is not an issue. The issue is more on getting the Genie XML format into an XML which BP can understand to import into BP database. It is important to be able to get the XML schema definition for both Genie and BP. Once we have the data mappings from Genie to BP DB defined AND the XML schema definitions for both, then a program can be written to convert the XML of Genie to BP XML.

Hello, (NOTE: Updated/Edited) Thanks you for posting the additional information that is very helpful. So this will be an XML to XML conversion based on what I am seeing here. This should be pretty straightforward assuming that the XML remains static and any missing elements are skipped and reported to an output file for reviewing. I have done such things in the past and these are not difficult assuming the output / input XML schemas are clearly defined. I can set certain fields (elements) as required so that the output is not created unless those are present and create an error report so you know which are being imported and which are not. Based on what I am seeing here the XML schemas certainly appear to be clearly defined. This task with testing should take somewhere between 30 - 40 hours. If you want me to design a dynamic interface where you can define the output yourself I can do that, but it will at least double the amount of time needed and may take a little longer than a month. As evidenced by my doing a little research on both of these software packages I am proactive and detail oriented. Rather than just doing mass bidding on projects I try to select those where my skills line up and where I feel like I could do the most good for the client.
