Their should be three options , one being fully automated online ordering, second is placing an order using an order number for existing customers, third a request a quotation option.

The number of products will approx 100.( we will populate these ourselves) in various categories for example

Golf umbrellas, Walking umbrellas, Mini Umbrellas, Totes umbrellas, Telescopic umbrellas Boxed Umbrellas, Children's Umbrellas, Parasol Umbrellas within each umbrella category we will need to put sub categories i.e. in golf umbrellas you can have round square double canopy and vented

Each umbrella can be printed in up to 8 panels and can be printed in one to four colours as well as four colour process. The quantities I would normally sell these in are 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 the site needs to be able to sell the customer what ever quantity they client wanted and calculate the price ( as long the order the minimum of 25 applies) And only on special quotation over that number. The pricing option gets a little complicated as the print price per panel is the same across the quantities but if the clients want more than one design then extra screen charges, and artwork

So to recap, you have the unprinted umbrella price, the print charge per colour printed per panel, a screen/plate charge for each colour, and an artwork/design charge, then freight costs. We would like to be able to put these costs in the database and apply a mark up to the totals for all the above, we would need the flexibility to be able to apply a different margin per quantity.

Would like the option for the customer to be able to order a sample umbrella especially in their own colours or a one off sample of a standard umbrella unprinted. As well as order printed umbrellas in the above quantities.

The other variables are as follows; these will be assigned to each item when populating the database as they don't apply to all products.

80 Panel colours (Mostly clients will want to order 4 white panels & four colour panels but these need to be flexible)

15 handle colours

10 styles of handle

15 stem colours

15 spike colours

Printed tie wrap

Decal insert into the handle

Engraved handle band

Colour banding

Fabric Sleeve

Express Delivery option (which would be extra cost to customer)

Delivery time for 3-4 weeks

Delivery time for 8 weeks as this is cheaper

We also have a range of standard layouts where the frame and handle are fixed as well a restricted choice of panel's colours.

I would customers to be able to built a coloured virtual sample of the umbrellas online including uploading their logo to see what it would look like and the could be either printed or emailed.

When ordering the client should have the facility to attach/upload artwork to the order they are sending us, if they tick the box that they are supplying artwork otherwise we will have a figure for artwork to add in

We require the following functions

1. Content management we need to be able to manage the site ourselves.

2 The site must have a special offers page

3 The site must have a latest products page

4. The site should be able to show the top sellers or most popular product (edited by us).

5. Clearance items.

All of the above only to show when populated.

The client to be able to log in and create an account so they can see the quotes requested, previous order placed and current orders.

We would like to be able raise invoices and delivery notes for the orders as well as purchase orders to suppliers.

The site would have a built in costing system so that when we put in the various costs we could then apply margins different across several different quantities and be able to change this real time.

We would like the facility of a reminder email to be sent a customer at a date say three weeks before their before the anniversary of their previous order.

We would like an ezine facility with an opt in or out when the client creates an account.

The site needs to have sterling and Euro currencies.

The markets we are selling to are.

Uk mainland

UK offshore islands

Northern Ireland

Southern Ireland

We will need to be able to calculate freight costs to each destination as they are based on two options on is a kilo rate for small quantity orders and one is a pallet rate for larger options, this will be defined when the site is being built.

The better you address the project criteria the more chance you have of being the successful bidder, projects certainly wont be awarded to a bid saying we can do it lets start. When we pay a programmer to write scripting for us, it must be recognized that we own the copyright of the scripting, code, system. Prior to payment we will require

a signed statement assigning all rights to our company for the scripting / system developed. Please remember that the writing of a script while a critical aspect is just one aspect of many in the creation of a system / product.
