We have a custom made inventory software where we quote our products. This is hosted on our server with a SQL Database. The software company who built the software said they can provide an API if needed but is not familiar with Salesforce.
Our customers in this software are either "ENDUSERS" or "DEALERS" and the only customers I have in the Salesforce are "ENDUSERS".
Most (95%) of our Salesforce customers were imported from our inventory software, however the two CUSTOMER Numbers between the two were not the same. So first step would be to link ALL Endusers by name in our inventory database to the salesforce. I assume we will need to change the salesforce customer number or add one to connect the two companies.
What I then want to do is every time a quote is done in our inventory software, it links it to the correct Salesforce client as an Opportunity. It should send information such as "Opportunity description" which we will enter into our software, Total dollar amount, and the customer.
