This project is to provide advice on linking a MS Access database (.mdb) on a local machine (Windows XP) to a MySQL database on a remote Linux server.
Must be experienced database administrator and available via MSN chat.
This should be a quick project. We have already set up a database on MySQL (empty), installed ODBC 3.51 on the Windows PC, and we have successfully tested a link between the Access database and the remote MySQL database.
We prefer to have the Access database write to the MySQL database, but not permit the MySQL to write to Access.
In our test table link, a new linked table called "Orders1" was created in MS Access from our table "Orders". What we need is to update the remote MySQL table when data changes to our Orders table. The new linked "Orders1" table does not mirror our original Orders table.
Again, this project is to advise us on how to mirror our local MS Access database table "orders" to the table "orders" in the MySQL database. The work will be completed by us.
Thank you for your interest in this quick project.
