We need to build a prototype made from Sharepoint that basically does two most important things: automate some work flows (to collect data) and generate reports based on the collected data.
The system is merely a prototype so it does not require full testing and even actual deployment.
The software project has the main purpose of exploring the concept of a "Research Portal" in addressing the client's needs.
There are 3 main types of work flows to be automated.

1) Filing of Leave of Absence
2) Applying for Research Incentives
3) Applying for Promotion
The organization has already specific processes for these but submission is manual (i.e. needs a lot of paperwork and slow)
These work flows provide important information about the research activities ---> which is the main output of the system.
Reports Generation require that data be collected from the work flow and be presented in predefined formats.
