We are trying to resolve the following Event Viewer error log event on a new Windows 2003 Server: Event Type: Warning Event Source: LSASRV Event Category: SPNEGO (Negotiator) Event ID: 40960 Date: 11/1/2010 Time: 7:41:28 PM User: N/A Computer: POWEREDGE1850 Description: The Security System detected an authentication error for the server DNS/prisoner.iana.org. The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. (0xc000005e)". For more information, see Help and Support Center at [url removed, login to view] Data: 0000: 5e 00 00 c0 ^..À We've googled and can only find a clue that we don't have the Reverse DNS Zones configured properly. Currently there are no entries in the DNS Server MMC plugin under "Reverse DNS Zone". The IP address of the server is [url removed, login to view] Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Default gateway: 192.168.1.1 We need step by step instructions on how to properly configure the Reverse DNS Server zone(s). The project will be considered completed when the Event Log error messages stop appearing. Currently they appear strangely every hour (most of the time).
