Skilled Bookkeeper for Australian Multi-Business & Investments

Title: Experienced Australian Bookkeeper Required – Multi-Business Structure + Investment/Trading Experience Essential Project Description: We are seeking an experienced Australian Bookkeeper with a strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST/BAS requirements, and investment accounting to support a growing group of businesses. This role involves bookkeeping across two operating businesses plus an investment company that actively trades cryptocurrency and shares. Due to the complexity of the structure, applicants must have a deep understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax treatment relating to business operations, investments, crypto transactions, and share trading activities. This may become an ongoing long-term role for the right candidate. Responsibilities include: Processing and entering receipts and expenses Managing bookkeeping across multiple entities Categorising and reconciling transactions accurately Bank and credit card reconciliations Preparing GST calculations and BAS/GST return figures Preparing financial reports and summaries Managing intercompany transactions where required Recording and reconciling cryptocurrency transactions Recording share purchases, disposals, dividends and investment activities Understanding capital gains, trading activity and investment reporting requirements Reviewing records for accuracy and identifying discrepancies Ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards Requirements: Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping and accounting requirements Experience with BAS and GST reporting Deep understanding of cryptocurrency and share trading bookkeeping/accounting Experience with investment entities and multi-company structures Strong understanding of capital gains, trading activity, and reconciliation processes Experience handling large volumes of receipts and transactions Xero experience highly preferred Experience with crypto accounting platforms and integrations is highly desirable Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and communicate clearly Highly desirable experience: Crypto accounting platforms (Koinly, CoinTracking, Syla, Crypto Tax Calculator etc.) Share portfolio accounting and investment reporting Australian tax and compliance requirements relating to trading entities Experience with complex group structures
