I’m organising an online Swahili course for children (roughly ages 8–12) who have zero prior exposure to the language. The entire programme will stay at beginner level and concentrate on grammar and vocabulary, laying a solid foundation the kids can build on later. Here’s what I need from you, the instructor-designer: • A clear 10-week syllabus that introduces essential nouns, verbs, simple sentence structure and everyday expressions, all in standard Tanzanian Swahili. • Engaging, child-friendly lesson materials for each week—slide decks (PowerPoint or Google Slides), printable worksheets and quick reference vocabulary lists with pronunciation guides. • Short interactive activities, songs, games or polls that keep young learners involved during our live Zoom sessions. • Homework sheets or Quizlet sets plus brief quizzes so I can track progress after every class. • A simple rubric I can share with parents to show how their children are progressing in grammar accuracy and word retention. Acceptance criteria 1. All lesson plans and materials delivered at least seven days before the course starts. 2. Content must be fully editable and free of copyright restrictions. 3. Vocabulary lists include example sentences and phonetic hints. I usually work with Canva, PowerPoint, Google Docs and Quizlet, but I’m open to your favourite tools as long as files remain easy for me to tweak. To help me gauge fit, please attach or link a sample slide or worksheet you’ve created for any language class aimed at children.

Hi, I’d love to help build this course because teaching beginner Swahili to children requires more than translating vocabulary; it needs a simple progression, repetition, and activities that make the language memorable and enjoyable. I’m a fluent Kiswahili speaker with a Bachelor of Education (Science) background and practical classroom teaching experience. I can develop a structured 10-week beginner syllabus covering everyday vocabulary, nouns, verbs, sentence formation, greetings, and common expressions, with age-appropriate examples and pronunciation support. For each week, I can prepare editable PowerPoint/Canva materials, printable worksheets, vocabulary lists, short quizzes, and interactive activities suitable for children aged 8–12. I can also structure the materials so that vocabulary is repeatedly reinforced through games, simple conversations, and homework rather than being taught in isolation. I’m comfortable working with PowerPoint, Canva, Google Docs, and other digital teaching tools, and I’ll ensure the materials remain editable and organized for your live Zoom sessions. I can provide a relevant sample worksheet/lesson material for review and would be happy to discuss the course structure and your preferred approach to **standard Tanzanian Swahili** before beginning. Best regards, Angel Wambui

Creating a beginner Swahili course for kids is a fantastic challenge. Engaging young learners while ensuring they grasp essential grammar and vocabulary can be tricky. If the content isn't fun and accessible, kids might lose interest quickly, which can lead to frustration for both them and their parents. I can design a 10-week syllabus that introduces key nouns, verbs, and sentence structures in a lively way. I'll create colorful slide decks, printable worksheets, and interactive activities tailored for their age group. These materials will keep students engaged during Zoom sessions and help track their progress through quizzes and homework. I have experience developing similar educational content and am committed to making revisions based on your feedback to ensure everything meets your vision. What’s the course start date? Also, do you have any specific themes or topics in mind for the lessons?
