We currently have a concrete warehouse with a single door to outside air access. Currently hot air accumulates in the warehouse, which has racking laid out. Can you suggest a piping/ventilation/fan system to extract this air? Cooling is provided by other means, so cooling(a/c) is not required, unless it will aid with the solution. Primarily, only an exhaust system is needed. The warehouse dimensions are 54 width by 78 length, with outside air access at the four dots near the 80 mark on the vertical access( see image). Racking in the warehouse is laid out as shown by the horizontal lines on the left side of the warehouse, throughout the warehouse.
The idea is to keep these alleyways cool, for staff present there. An alternative is to create exhaust voids for exhaust fans on the length of the building, or upwards through the ceiling, however both of these alternatives are less preferred compared to utilising the existing doorway to avoid structural manipulation. Ambient air temperature is generally 28-33C year round, and inside temperature can rise to 37-40 degrees due to hot air entrapment. The goal is to bring ambient and internal temperatures in line. The lowest cost, but long term viable solution is desired. While submitting your proposal please indicate the list of materials that may be required for your proposed solution. Design and layout can be provided after project is awarded. Design should include logic being employed to design the system e.g flow analysis, or heat transfer principles utilised to validate design.
