I am a medical doctor with 5 intense years of clinical experience, now doing my PhD at QUT, Brisbane (cancer modelling and regenerative medicine). My academic and work experiences (in far-flung remote villages, and bustling cosmopolitan cities of India) have helped hone my communication skills, especially writing content, a skill I believe is an absolute prerequisite for this job. As part of research, writing medical and healthcare content is practically 2nd nature now. But it isn't just about being a good communicator in my field. I am an avid reader and writer since childhood.
