I will try to give you the details as best as I can.
I have a database on DVD of about 3 gig with just under
28 million USA business listings.
They are broken down into 51 folders, (By USA States).
Each folder contains between 740 and 835 csv files.
Each of these files is a yellowpages catagory with sub-catagories, with business name, phone number, state, city, zipcode etc as in the yellowpages or superpages.
I want to create a sort of interface that you run on your PC to preform searches. It would either be a software that stays on the pc or runs from the DVD, but opens on your PC when the DVD is put into the dvd player.
The idea is to be able to preform searches of the data and then have an option to export results in csv or sql format to aid in creating a databases for niche websites.
For example you could search for all the Pizza restaurants in the USA, usin ga searhc box the you enter a keyword into..
Or choses a catagory and subcatory, from dropdown menu.
For example "All USA", or a "State" from a drop down(which would mean all folders would be searched or just the one state you choose) then from drop downs "Trucking - Motor Freight" and subcatagory "Trucking Companies".
Then you have the ability to rename this catagory to fit wiht your directory site. So in this case we could say we wanted to call this catagory "transport companies" for our new database. Then either choose to export this in csv or sql, or continue to build the "new" databse wiht other catagories.
Do you get the idea of what I am thinking of?
I am thinking of trying to set this up with a license key after if possible. And one step further I am thinking of possibly having multiple keys to allow searches of 1-52 states depending on the license.
This would also mean I need to protect the database form being copied if possible. Like maybe having it all in a fiolder that is password protected that only the software and myself, if possible could access.
I am attaching sample csv file for you to see.
What do you think?
I had someone start it and I can actually send you the projec they were working on. But I am guessin gyou may probably want to do it from scratch yourself, rather than work on the other project that is half done.
They could not complete it due to internet problems.
Please get back to me with your thoughts and your best price on this.
(The original programmers bid was actually $70. I expect you will be a bit higher. But hopefully not too much higher)
Please bid without the license key function and also a seperate bid with the key function, (if you are able to do that part)
I look forward to hearing from you.
