I need a Access database template for an inventory control system.
I have multiple storage locations (3 warehouses) which dispatch items to different areas (about 11) all within the same building and network. The system should work something like this. The different area request the items and amount (must be able to request as eaches or shipper) via Access, the request arrives to the storage location only if it stores that item. After getting the request the storage locations dispatches the items at which time they get subtracted from the system which tracks the quantity available. If the available quantity goes below minimum order amount the item owner (each item has needs primary and secondary owner) should receive an email (we use Outlook) indicating that the item and quantity available. I also want the capabilities to analyze the transactions to see item usage by location/cost and determine slow moving items.
Users in the different areas which use and request the items in the database. Must request items in a form which must be able to filter items by usage locations. They need to be able to order in eaches or a shipper (box).
Storage Locations Users
Users who work in the area which holds the items. Must receive item request from item users via access. they dispatch the items wish then must be discounted from the available amount. Must be able to discount in eaches or shipper.
Item Owners Users
Users which are responsible for the ordering the items they own in the database. Each item must have a primary and secondary owner. Owners might own multiple items. It is their responsibility to reorder the items they own. They (both the primary and secondary owners) must be automatically notified by email (outlook) if any of their items has gone below the minimum order quantity. After ordering they must enter ordered amount as in transit.
Analyze transaction history to determine usage by area/cost and determine slow moving items.
The system will not have more than 15 active users at anytime, all within the same network. All users should work through ease to use forms. This should give a good indication of what I am looking for, I will provide additional information.
