My goal is simple: I'll find the urgent problems, even ones you may not have noticed, and fix them properly. I believe the real difficulty here is not the forwarding rules themselves. EE often places customers behind CGNAT, which silently blocks all port forwarding no matter how well the router is set up. Three quick questions to confirm: 1. Is your EE service mobile broadband or fixed line, and does the Flint show a public WAN IP? 2. Do you prefer WireGuard or OpenVPN for the tunnel? 3. Will the Slate travel with you as the client device? I also think the setup order matters a lot. My plan: Step 1. Verify your WAN IP. If you sit behind CGNAT, I'll build a WireGuard tunnel that needs no open ports at all. Step 2. Set the Flint up as the VPN server, open only the single required port and harden the firewall. Step 3. Connect the Slate, test from an outside network and confirm stable access. Step 4. Hand over clear, plain-English documentation so you can manage it yourself.
