We have created a phone app titled “Platform”, which helps users study for their quizzes using a
multiple choice format. Platform uses a database to store its questions, which are submitted by faculty
members. The app communicates with the database via a PHP API using GET/POST protocol. We need
an experienced web developer to create a web interface that faculty can use to submit, edit, and delete
questions for Platform. Additionally, the app should allow faculty to view and download statistics about
how users performed when they took a quiz.
We are open to whatever web stack you would like to use, but keep in mind the visual and technical
requirements. We will be servicing the application from an Apache server running on Windows, so your
chosen web stack must be compatible with that form of deployment. We will provide access to a Git
repository on GitLab for you to push your work to (so you may need to create a GitLab account if you
don’t already have one). We require the application to scale to most desktop browser resolutions.
Scaling for mobile is a bonus, but not a requirement.
We have split the milestones into a few deliverables, listed below. More detail about the apps features
and technical requirements can be found in later sections. A separate document that details the
database design and PHP API will be provided once the project is awarded, but some general info can be
found later in this document. Some basic mockups throughout this document will give you a general
idea of the application’s layout, but a full visual guide will be provided before Milestone 3.
