i need a research paper on the below topic Abstract: Enhancing OAuth 2.0 Security with Zero Trust Principles With the increasing reliance on OAuth 2.0 for authorization in modern web applications, ensuring its security against evolving cyber threats is paramount. This research explores the integration of Zero Trust principles into OAuth 2.0 to enhance access control and mitigate risks associated with credential misuse, token theft, and unauthorized access. The study begins with an in-depth analysis of OAuth 2.0’s architecture and common vulnerabilities, including token replay attacks, phishing-based token interception, and misconfigured redirect URIs. To address these concerns, we propose a Zero Trust-based OAuth 2.0 framework that enforces continuous authentication, dynamic access control, and context-aware security policies. A Proof of Concept (PoC) implementation is developed to test the effectiveness of this approach, incorporating risk-based authentication, behavioral analytics, and Just-In-Time (JIT) access provisioning. Additionally, we explore the role of AI-driven anomaly detection in identifying suspicious authentication patterns and preventing unauthorized access. The research also introduces a Privacy-Preserving Access Token (PPAT) model, which ensures data minimization, encryption, and fine-grained access control to prevent excessive data exposure. Comparative security evaluations are conducted against existing OAuth 2.0 implementations, including OpenID Connect and SAML, to validate the improvements in attack resistance and security posture. Finally, this study applies the proposed framework to a microservices-based architecture to demonstrate its real-world feasibility. Performance and security benchmarks are conducted using Kubernetes-based deployments to evaluate scalability and efficiency. The findings highlight the significance of adopting Zero Trust strategies in OAuth 2.0, offering a robust solution for securing authentication and authorization in cloud-native applications.
