- Users will be able to submit stories, comment on a submission, tag their submissions as well as others, and mark it '5 stars' or '0 stars' - which in turn will move that story to the top of the list for surfers to find or burying it by marking it 0 stars.
- Creator badges - The site will have badges that users will be able to place on their site to show they've submitted their story to the site.
- Creators News - will allow users to have an RSS on their site that rolls the latest 'creative stories' submitted
eCommerce - inegrate w/paypal and my icommerce gateway (probably you'll be working with my webmaster to implement and coordinate this section. )
Registration - all submitters will be required to register and create a username and pword, one-user sign up for all site features including forum, story submissions, purchases, etc. I use AutoresponsePlus (ARP) to manage subscribers etc., so this membership registration system will need to be integrated with the ARP protocals.
Social Bookmarking - we will want to implement the necessary requirements to allow users to post their list of bookmarks or favorite websites for others to search and view….Examples include digg, [url removed, login to view], StumbleUpon, reddit, Netvouz, and furl. (http:// [url removed, login to view]
Seach capability - integrate an excellent search function that also allows users to select from keywords that the 'story-submitters' used when 'tagging' their submissions
First phase social capability - such as linkedin or other integration
Site must be EASY to maintain by more than 'tech-savvy' persons. I want an assistant to be able to come in and edit pages from an online admin area as opposed to a program like DW etc.
The site will be a cross between
iusedtobelieve dot com and zaadz dot com
Virtual world - probably the 2nd phase of the website will include a similar 3D simulation world - similar to sims online.
Social Guide - A social guide recommending places to visit or contains information about places in the real world that support our sites 'philosophy'
I am open to multi-phase development for this project. First phase being the full interactivity of story-submissions (similar to iusedtobelieve dot com) and the second phase being the social networking integration. If possible please segment your bid in the PMB accordingly.
My ideal programmer for this project will absolutely need to be able to advise us as to the type of wiki, CMS, social networking etc. software they want to use; be able to lead the project from beginning to end - prompting for whatever 'text' they need but doing so by first attempting to put a 'stake-in-the-ground' themselves with what is most likely going to be similar to the end result. I also want a programmer that will communicate directly with my host to make sure the software programs and languages are already supported by my host before assuming and proceeding.
The programmer needs to be thinking in terms of scalability and long term success - which means let's select software/languages etc that are proven, are being continually improved upon, upgraded and used by the big sites so we can minimize the risk of having to convert to something more standard later on when our choices become archaic because they are no longer used/supported etc.
I'm in USA - Central Time Zone, my ideal programmer is either in my time zone (or couple hours either side of my time zone) or is willing to work the hours that allow us to communicate during my business hours. My ideal programmer speaks very good English and can talk on the phone, or IM regularly to develop the best site possible.
