I require a complete rebuild of a website which was built quite a few years ago, using Frontpage, and has now become dated and difficult to navigate.
The site has become quite large and contains many pages.
In essence, it is an educational website run by the UK Reading Reform Foundation, a non-profit organisation involved with the teaching of literacy.
Here is the web address: [url removed, login to view]
The main use of the site (apart from its busy messageboard) is as an archive for its newsletters. There are around 15 newsletters on the site, each of which has approx 8 to 12 articles.
The menu bar for the new site will need to enable users to access each newsletter and (via a sub-menu) each article.
Each newsletter has been stored on the site as a PDF file which can be easily downloaded by visitors in it's entirity. The new site will include the facility to view each article on the screen in it's formatted state and to have a 'print-friendly' page for printing out.
In addition to the newsletters, the re are many other pages and documents on the website, in PDF, Word and HTML formats. The menu bar will allow for easy location of these documents/pages.
There needs to be a facility to update the website on a regular basis with news items etc,so I would be happy with a well designed/customised content management site if all I have left to do is fill the site with the content from the old site.
The important factor is to have a well designed and logical menu/navigation system and a fresh looking modern site which is easily editable by me. I would prefer the editing to be web-based, but locally via ftp is fine.
There may be a few additions as we go along, but nothing too difficult for a talented web designer - certainly no need for anything too complicated. The finished job will have a clean, fresh and professional look and feel, be simple to navigate and be easily editable.
Please visit the site and submit bids with any questions you may have.
