I have a fairly basic install of TFS 2010 and SharePoint 2010 running (with a couple possible issue, but nothing critical) running on one Windows server 2008 R2 domain member and need these migrated to another member in the same domain. The databases will be moving from SQL 2008 R2 Enterprise to SQL 2012 Standard but I think I've resolved all the issues that might be specific to that change (like compressed indexes). I already have a maintenance plan setup that backs up all relevant DBs but restoring them at the moment requires manually updating a SQL script (which I'll do if that's helpful at the time). I only have a couple ProjectCollections and related DBs but online one of them is even online and required.
The 2nd (offline one) would be a bonus so if you tell me you'll bring it online also, OR you're willing to teach me as you go with the first and maybe answer a few questions as I try to bring the 2nd online myself (to build my skill-set), that would be seen as value-added. TFS 2010 w/ SP1 and SharePoint 2010 w/ SP1 are already installed on the destination server but I'm not familiar enough with either product to successfully do all the DB remaps, change service accounts, etc... I'm looking for someone with experience either doing migrations like this or enough "disaster recovery" experience related to TFS that you're confident you can get this done without having to research the entire process (I'm not entirely green myself but I need this done sooner than later which is why I'm looking to hire out). I am prepared to provide remote desktop access or the equivalent so that you're going to have a lot of freedom, but I will likely "watch over your shoulder" remotely as well for my peace of mind and so that I can learn as you go. If you're willing to use a voip technology to provide a dialog or answer questions, that would improve your chances of being selected over other bidders but it's not a requirement. The "deliverable" will be a fully working TFS 2010 install and Sharepoint 2010 install with my most current DBs attached so I can resume work using Visual Studio. The final test will be for me to once again connect to TFS using the dedicated client and Visual Studio. Based on my knowledge and experience I have a pretty good idea of how long this would take someone with the experience I lack so your bid should be a base cost and time estimate along with an hourly rate to be used in case problems come up that require additional time. If the base time isn't sufficient, then we'll discuss continuing and come to an agreement before work continues and we will have to discuss any progress you've made and if it warrants partial pay so be realistic with your base time/cost bid. I am very fair and professional and expect the same of you. Honesty is critical so please only bid if you're confident of your abilities and your estimates.
