The project here is to reskin a mobile application for use by stock traders in a particular commodity.
There is an existing app which is built in HTML 5.0 with a old mobile emulator. This exising app and code are owned completely with no copyrights etc. The new app will function in exactly the same way but reskin with with new branding. All new branding ie logo, colour palettes have already been completed and all that needs to be done is to apply the new branding. There is a new website that has just been completed which can be used as a guide to designing the app. In addition the functional aspect of the app will exactly the same of the existing app
The only real difference will be the reskinned app will be taking its data from a new source: The New Website Database.
In addition the prospective developer will need to wrap the adjusted HTML code to best function with latest IOS and Android
Open to suggestions of PhoneGap, Apache Cordova etc.
The new website will use a central SQL database
Data is stored as raw XML in separate data stores (equivalent to SQL tables) as appropriate to the task.
All data stores can be queried via a standard REST API and data is returned as XML.
The curerent app is currently fairly simple but will need to be expanded in the future projects. Main Features:
- User Login
- Current Stock prices of less than 5 commodities (this is a live feed)
Also be able to generate price/time graphs on the fly
- News (Requires back end upload facility)
- Live Currency converter
- Reports - (requires back end upload facility)
- Messaging system - this only needs to be within the user base
- Analytics - provide data from website database
Design will need to be in keeping with "look and feel" of new website which this will run in conjunction with.
The prospective developer will need to look at the code during the process and clean up and eliminate existing code to ensure smooth running of reskinned app.
Lastly this app will be white labelled in the future to other organisations. The reskin should therefore take into account the ease of changing the front end to new branding.
