We have a wine-searching website for wine consumers to search stores (online and brick/mortar) for specific wines. The consumer will have a box to enter whichever specifics of they wine they seek, and it will be matched with databases uploaded from stores who pay a monthly fee to post inventory. Most online wine stores would want us to get the information from the website.
Specifics of wine searching may or may not include:
Vintage, Winery, Wine Name, Wine Type, appellation, Wine Maker, Bottle size, Geographic region (country or origin as well as local region), bottle price, case price, tasters ratings.
Our first effort is hindered by the upload process. Potential customers with 100s of different formats and databases are difficult to upload uniformly with the rudimentary system implemented. Some targets have one line of text with all of the information, others have split into 2 or 3 sets of data, others have in 10 sets of data, some using Excel, some using Access,, some just want the data to be sourced from their website. Research on comptetitors indicates possibly a "spider" would be most effective to process the databases. Our primary goal is to implement an automated sorting and upload process of their data once we get a customer signed up, as well as regular uploads.
