I need an app that is similar to Logo Quiz. Same basic premise and interface. You will be required to replicate the main functionality of Logo Quiz, including providing hints. and allowing users to purchase additional hints through IAP. In addition to the app itself, I also need a logo and possibly some banner-style screenshots for the app store.
I also require some basic Facebook integration - sharing achievements, and asking your friends for help identifying an image.
Once you have signed an NDA, I will share the specifics of the project, and will provide you with available resources that will help you complete the project. It's a very simple guess-and-check app. It can easily be created within a few days, but I expect a certain level of UI polish, and it will likely take a few days to gather the assets and hints. Target development is two weeks.
If necessary, I can provide you with the images (full and edited versions) and hints for each object. However, I would prefer the developer be able to do this. If I am required to do this, you must come in under budget and complete the project more quickly. If you handle the assets, then I expect them to match my standard of quality and support retina resolutions.
This is a very simple application, so I expect it to work flawlessly with no bugs or crashes. Code must be clean, structured, and modular.
Support must include the iPhone 3G, 4, and 4S, as well as the iPad, iPad 2, and iPad (retina). Retina graphics must be supported on the 4, 4S, and iPad (retina).
- fluent in English and easy to contact
- strong understanding of American culture
- take pride in your work
- able to have a Skype interview
- willing to make a quick Hello World app so that I can see how you deploy apps for review
- skilled in UI development (I'm a big fan of transitioning between views)
I am a lead mobile developer working for the US Government, and have delivered BlackBerry and iOS apps to thousands of users as part of my duties. As such, you don't have to worry about being too technical with me - in fact, I may be able to offer code or advice if necessary. However, this also means that I'll be reviewing your code personally as well as testing very thoroughly for bugs. I'm also a competent graphic designer, though I'm trying to use Photoshop less and Illustrator more with the high resolutions that devices support these days. Again, I can provide some support in this area, but I would prefer a developer that does not require my assistance.
When you reply, start with the words "The World Ends With You". That way I know you've actually read through my requirements. Send me any references and links to previous work. Resumes are great, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, then an app is worth ten thousand. Finally, please answer the following questions. Think of it as a little quiz that will help me identify the more skilled developers.
1) What is the best way to render a UIButton with three rounded corners and a gradient as the background?
2) How would you make two views transition to each other (for example one fades out, and then the other fades in)?
3) Without using XIBs, how do you support both iPhone and iPad layouts using the same view controller?
That's all. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to working with you!
