We are conducting a survey with two questionnaires in MS-Word. The respondents enter data in bookmarked text and checkbox fields. There are about 400 and 200 fields in the two questionnaires respectively. We are looking for a program to extract the data from the completed surveys (word files) to Excel sheets with the columns corresponding to the bookmarks (variables) and the rows representing the individual respondents (observations). In addition, the program should be able to extract and feed the Word file name and a date/time stamp (when run) to the last 2 columns on the Excel sheet. We want an easy to run script that can be used to populate and update the Excel sheet as and when survey responses start to come in.
