I work for a small magazine publisher and we are interested in porting some of our titles to Amazon's Kindle. We do our production work in QuarkXPress and we'd like to hand off those files to someone who could do a clean conversion into a properly formatted set of files for immediate delivery to Amazon. Note this is not the same as a simple epub conversion - magazines go into Kindle Publishing for Periodicals, and use NITF formatting.
Magazines are very complicated in layout and as such you should know what you are getting into with this project. Kindle is also very specific about their formatting. Please don't apply for this if you aren't very familiar with both these formats. Past examples of work doing something like this would be useful.
If accepted, we will provide you with Quark files for a recent issue of one of our magazines, and the end product you will return is a set of files formatted so it could be immediately delivered to Amazon Kindle. We will provide an example of the end product.
Successful delivery of one issue of our magazine may lead to additional work for more issues.
Thanks for looking.
